Analysing employment evidence base & economic impact for a regeneration development
Steer Economic Development was commissioned noncompetitively to provide a succinct economic analysis to support the strategic and employment land use case for a retail-driven regeneration development in Gloucestershire. The development in question, being proposed by a confidential client, was located on the edge-of-town with car parking, rather than in vacant premises in a town-centre location.
Working closely with our client, we developed a high-level economic impact model, a database of economic and employment indicators as a data appendix, and a two-page Summary Narrative Report to inform the relevant District Council’s Planning Committee.
This was a rapid turnaround project which we delivered promptly for the client team as part of their wider work to advance a planning appeal to justify out-of-town retail development.
