John is an economic development professional and business case specialist with experience working in research and analysis across a range of industries and Clients. Prior to joining Steer, he worked for Hatch and Mott MacDonald, acting as the Manchester City Lead from October 2024 to March 2025, leading client engagement and business development across the City Region. John specialises in economic impact assessments, value for money appraisal and business case development, having worked for a number of local, regional, and national governments as well as private and third-sector clients.
He is experienced in using a wide variety of data sets across sectors, including health, technology, manufacturing, commercial, transport, and housing, to inform policy, research, and investment cases across sectors. His work has helped attract public and private sector investment across the UK, and informed economic strategies for local and regional governments.
