Calum joined our 2022 graduate training programme and holds an MA in Economics with Finance from The University of Edinburgh.​

As an Assistant Consultant at Steer Economic Development, Calum provides both quantitative and qualitative analytical support across a wide range of projects, including socio-economic baselining, economic impact modelling and policy analysis.​

During his degree, Calum developed detailed knowledge in both micro and macroeconomics and how complex economic problems interact with financial markets on both domestic and global scales.​

In his final year dissertation, Calum focused on developmental economics, investigating the determinants of school enrolment of children in Ethiopia, and the likelihood of these children being engaged in different forms of child labour. Calum utilised his skills in research, data cleaning and econometric software to produce this piece of work, earning him a first-class award.
